CCS Thanks & Good News

  • Many, many thanks to the local philanthropists from whom CCS received $100,000 anonymously on Dec. 28. This money will go entirely to direct client assistance, both financial and food.

  • Thanks to the Elkhart County Community Foundation for their gift of $10,000 designated for utility assistance, and to the CCS board for matching that amount.

  • Thanks to Tim and Bruce and friends for gifts of food and money, and to Stan at Martin's for maximizing the amount of nutritious food that money would buy. Result: nearly 3 tons of food.

  • Dec. 17: The children of Trinity Lutheran church in Elkhart gave $250 to provide diapers to our pantry clients with babies.

  • Dec. 16: Elkhart's Pierre Moran Middle School basketball team collected and brought in 590 lbs. of food for our pantry.

  • Dec. 15: Kem Krest, an Elkhart County business, purchased 28 SOS gift baskets for corporate giving.

Church Community Services is a faith-based interdenominational non-profit agency that assists people in crisis and empowers them to move out of poverty. Services include a client choice food pantry, emergency financial assistance, plus our Soup of Success Job and Life Skills Training Program which empowers women in poverty to make positive changes toward greater self-sufficiency. We also offer public education on poverty.
