Gardening season is upon us! Do you know what garden tools you have, want, or need? Come learn about a range of useful non-motorized garden tools that are useful for weeding, mulching, planting, and harvesting. Descriptive overviews and actual demonstrations will be given on types of longer handled shovels, hoes, forks, and rakes, as well as small handheld tools. Participants will get a chance to physically try out tools at Bushelcraft Farm!
This class is the first of many in a partnership between Bushelcraft Farm and Seed to Feed of Elkhart. Together, we are excited to offer community educational experiences outdoors!
Who should come? Anyone interested in backyard gardening, getting their hands in the soil, and hand tools! Class is family friendly, though best suited for individuals 10+ years old.
Instructor: Jon Zirkle, director of Bushelcraft Farm. Tiera Porter-House, Garden Education Coordinator at Seed to Feed, will be present as well!
Cost: there is no cost to attend, though donations are greatly appreciated!
Note: To try out tools during the class, participants need to wear gloves, closed-toed shoes, and ideally long pants. Gloves provided.
