Soup of Success: "I am a strong woman!"

“Several years ago, a woman approached us about Soup of Success. She wanted to rediscover herself and heal from the domestic violence she had experienced for 6 years. She was scared, but also very brave. She recently filed for divorce, and he had threatened to stalk her and end her life. She was 65 years old and was determined to heal and make life changes.

While in the Soup of Success program, she did just that! She began to heal from the abuse, strengthen her self-esteem, learn new skills, and started setting boundaries again. She was so proud of herself, especially in the areas of personal growth and computer skills.

She was granted a divorce, moved into her own place and began to volunteer again! She rediscovered herself and was very proud of what she discovered! At her age she fought so hard and made a life for herself again. Having witnessed this remarkable change, I told myself to always grow and to never give up on what I want my life to be. She used to say, ‘I am a strong woman!’ and just beamed with accomplishment!”
